Veterinary Surgeons

Amie Nugent MRCVS

Amie qualified in Slovakia in 2011 having previously completed a degree in Animal Science at Leeds University. Amie has worked in small animal practice for 2 years in Sussex before joining Beech House. Amie has 2 rescue dogs who she brought home from Sri Lanka after a period of voluntary work there.

Angelika Wojtowicz MRCVS

Angelika joined Beech House in the summer of 2015 having qualified as a veterinary surgeon in her home country of Poland in 2012.  She worked for 3 years in Poland at a small animal clinic before deciding to come to the UK.  At home she has a golden retriever and a rescue cat.  She is currently considering bringing her cat to live with her in England but her dog will stay in Poland with her parents who have a large garden for her to play in.

In her spare time Angelika enjoys climbing (although she has not done this in the UK just yet).  She loves sampling new places and is really enjoying exploring the local area, and further afield when she has time.

Daniela Silva

Daniela qualified in Portugal in 2012 and worked in a small animal practice in Portugal for 2 and a half years before moving to the UK.  Her first post in the UK was an internship with the veterinary specialists SCVS (Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists) where she gained some very valuable experience.  Her hobbies include photography, painting and she loves to browse the local antique shops.  She enjoys everything nature based and is fond of picnics and spending time in her new garden.  Living close to the New Forest is a big plus for Daniela and that is where she can be found on her week ends off, weather permitting.

 
 

Nursing Staff

Ellie Grist RVN

Ellie joined Beech House in 1992, having been in charge of a boarding kennels & grooming facility. She attended Sparsholt Agricultural College on day release, passing her pre vet nursing qualification with distinctions in all subjects, to enable her to go to the full NVQ Veterinary Nursing course in 2003. Ellie passed her level 3 nursing exams in 2005.  Ellie is deputy to the practice manager.

Anna Hollis RVN

Anna qualified as a veterinary nurse many years ago whilst working at Beech House. She has worked for an emergency clinic as senior nurse but has returned to Beech House as Head Nurse to lead our team of dedicated, qualified and trainee nurses.

Hannah Jane Drinkwater RVN

Hannah, formally  head veterinary nurse and the team leader for the rest of the nursing staff joined Beech House in 2002. She attended Sparsholt College and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2006. At home Hannah has her rescue Dog Olive and three cats. Hannah currently works part time as she has a young family.

Lizzie Nicol RVN

Lizzie came to work at Beech House in 2007 after completing the National Diploma in Animal management at Sparsholt College. She qualified as a veterinary nurse in March 2010 and has a young family so is currently working part time.

Ruth Miller RVN

Ruth joined Beech House in 1997. She studied with Waltham Pet Nutrition in 2000, gaining her Pet Health Counsellor award. She passed her pre vet nursing exams on day release at Sparsholt in 2002, but took a break from studying to bring up her young family. Ruth restarted her vet nurse training in 2012 and is now a RVN.

Sarah Randell RVN

Sarah qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2010 and worked in a couple of other local practices before joining Beech House in 2014. Sarah is a bit of an expert at hand rearing tiny kittens.  Sarah's interests out of work are horse riding and teaching young children to ride.

Emily Veal                                                                                                                         

Emily joined Beech House in September 2013.  Prior to this Emily studied the National Diploma in Animal Management for 2 years and achieved a final grade of triple distinction.

Sarah Wilson

Sarah started veterinary nurse training in 2002 but left the course to travel. On her return she worked for 10 years for the Stubbington Ark and was promoted to head of cattery.  After a period of maternity leave she returned to the Ark and oversaw feral cats and cats with behavioural problems.  She also completed an advanced diploma in feline behaviour.  In 2015 Sarah commenced her FdSc in veterinary nursing and is carrying out her work placement and working part time at Beech House.  In her spare time she enjoys visiting new places, camping and walking with her young family.

Sam Harvey RVN

Sam moved to Southampton from Bristol in 2014 to commence her FdSc Veterinary Nurse Training at Sparsholt Agricultural College.  She has worked extremely hard and qualified in July 2017.  She owns 3 rescue guinea pigs and enjoys horse riding and walking in her spare time.

Olivia Hawkins

Livvie works part time for Beech House as an auxilliary and is a valued member of our team who always has a smile for everyone.  Livvie has 2 beautiful long haired cats. Livvie also works part time at a local school.

Larissa Pearce

Having grown up at Beech House Lara returned in 2010 after graduating with 1st class honours in the Veterinary Nursing Degree from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2009.

 Sue Wren

Sue began her veterinary career in 1972 qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 1974. She worked as a head nurse and went on to become the practice manager of a veterinary hospital. Sue joined the team at Beech House in April 2016 and is based at the Coldeast Surgery. Sue's interests include walking-with her two whippets, a keen interest in bird watching, together with an obsession with golf! Sue enjoyed a very successful year as the Lady Captain at Wellow Golf Club in 2014. Along with whippets Grace and Peggy she also has two cats, Ron and Arnie, who were rescued as kittens.
